Once Upon a Time Nursery is a privately owned setting situated within the Rotherham area. Operating from a large building within Maltby which is registered for 90 children from birth to 5 years.

Eat Better, Do Better Our Menus

We work under the guidelines of The Children Food Trust ‘Eat Better, Do Better’ which helps early years’ providers and practitioners encourage children to eat well and learn about food in their early years, which not only protects their health when they are young, but also sets the foundations for their future health and wellbeing. Our menus are planned and changed seasonally developing our children’s learning and providing teaching opportunities.

We are proud to say we continue to be 5 stars in our kitchen, with our latest inspection completed on 21.05.2026.

100% recommend Once Upon a Time Nursery. Isabelle has been with them since 2 years old and they have been absolutely brilliant with her. We wouldn’t be where we are without them and how much time and effort they put in to Isabelle getting her EHCP. They’re all amazing, friendly staff and we will miss them.

Would 100% recommend this nursery. My little boy has just had his graduation after being there for over 3 years. He’s been in every room from baby to preschool and really enjoyed it. The staff are very friendly and approachable. If I have ever had any concerns they were resolved straight away. The location is perfect and plenty of options for times of care throughout the day. The managers have always been flexible with me when needed as my working hours could vary from time to time. If you’re looking for a nursery I would definitely recommend going to visit Once Upon A Time. Parent 2024.

We honestly couldn’t have chosen a better preschool for our daughter. After moving her from another nursery that just wasn’t the right fit, it turned out to be one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. Over the last two years, she has absolutely flourished. She’s grown in confidence, made wonderful friendships, and learned so much, all thanks to the incredible team who genuinely care about every child. Every member of staff has been so kind, supportive and welcoming, and it’s clear they put their hearts into what they do. Once Upon a Time Nursery as been operating for over 38 years now. We are a family run business but we know our business is only as good as our staff that work in it, therefore we realise our management team is vital to a well run caring nursery.

Our Nursery Management team Naomi (Manager) Toni (Manager) Leanne (Deputy Manager) collectively have worked for Once Upon a Time Nursery for over 30 years now.
